assessment 2 blog post

For this assessment task i was required to create a website using the program Iweb and upload it to the the internet using fetch. the website i designed was a poker themed website called Aces-up poker a poker news website similar to pokernews or highstakesDB. In designing this website i looked for a clean style in all aspects of the design, choosing to use the futura font with a simple almost transparent background and a three colour theme of black white and purple.
Upon inittial upload my website worked fine and i had no problems using fetch, until i decided to make some changes and had to go and re-upload the new files i found i had crashed my site and had an error 404 message.
Overall i had alot of fun designing a website and thought the assessment gave a lot of creative freedom in that area.

Week 8 Iweb

So assessment one is done and now we are starting assessment 2. we are using Iweb to to create our own website. there is a lot of freedom in this assessment as we are choosing all aspects of the creative sidde of things. i think i will enjoy this!!

For assessment 1 of MPI104 I used google mail to create accounts at Blogger, Flickr and delicious aswell as doing some basic HTML coding.

Blogger

For blogger I chose to do a song of the day blog in which I would embed a youtube video and write why I enjoy the song and a bit about the artist. I had 12 blog posts upon completion of this assessment. Some of my more interesting blogs included:

I personally uploaded a total of 41 images to my flickr account. Of which all are very memorable.

The final part of assessment 1 involved creating a delicious account and bookmarking our favourite websites and websites that related to our blog. Delicious is a very useful tool that means you can have all your personal bookmarks available where ever you are. I personally have found it very useful since starting university this year. I bookmarked a total of 12 websites in delicious of which most were related to to this subject and others were related to procrastinating during this subject.

Todays song is by Avenged Sevenfold and is called Afterlife. I recently had the chance to go and see A7x but unfortunately i was still in the poker tournament i was playing in Sydney that weekend so i couldnt attend. They are a great band check out the vid!!!

They are known for their diverse heavy metal sound, dramatic imagery in album covers and t-shirts. Avenged Sevenfold emerged with a metalcore sound on their debut Sounding the Seventh Trumpet but their style had evolved by their third album and first major label release, City of Evilinto a hard rock sound. The band continued to explore new sounds with their self-titled release and enjoyed continued mainstream success before their drummer, James "The Rev" Sullivan, died in 2009. Despite his death, the band continued on with help of now-former Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy and released and toured in support of their fifth album Nightmare in 2010 which debuted on the top spot of the Billboard 200, their first number one debut.

To date, Avenged Sevenfold has released five studio albums, one live album/compilation/DVD, and eighteen singles and sold more than four million album worldwide.
